In line with National Education Policy emphasis on the development of the creative potential of each student will be laid. Our endeavor is not only the development of cognitive capacities – both the fundamental capacities of literacy and numeracy and higher order cognitive capacities such as critical thinking and problems solving but also on social, ethical and emotional capacities and dispositions. Our focus will be on inquiry-based learning, multi-disciplinary study and flexible assessment. 

The curriculum and pedagogical structure and the curriculum framework for school education is consisted of:

EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION: THE FOUNDATIONAL STAGE (NURSERY - CLASS II)

  • Includes all aspects of care, health, nutrition, play and early learning.
  • The learning in the preparatory Class shall be based primarily on play-based learning with a focus on developing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities and early literacy and numeracy.

FOUNDATIONAL LITERACY AND NUMERACY: PREPARATORY STAGE (CLASS III - CLASS V)

  • The Preparatory Stage will comprise of three years of education building on the play, discovery, and activity-based pedagogical and curricular style of the Foundational Stage
  • Incorporating some light text books as well as aspects of more formal but interactive classroom learning, in order to lay a solid groundwork across subjects, including reading, writing, speaking, physical education, art, languages, Science and Mathematics.

MIDDLE STAGE (CLASS VI - CLASS VII)

  • Comprises of three years of education, building on the pedagogical and curricular style of the Preparatory Stage.
  • Learning and discussion of the more abstract concepts in each subject-Science, Mathematics, Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities.
  • Experiential learning within each subject, and explorations of relations among different subjects will be encouraged and emphasised.

SECONDARY STAGE (CLASS IX - CLASS XII)

  • Comprises of four years of multi disciplinary study.
  • Subject-oriented pedagogical and curricular style of the Middle Stage, but with greater depth, greater critical thinking, greater attention to life aspirations, and greater flexibility and student choice of subjects.

SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT (CLASS III – CLASS VIII)

  • PERIODIC TEST: The school will be conducting two Periodic Tests during the Academic Year.
  • Assignment / Worksheets, short tests will be carried out during the academic session.
  • SUBJECT ENRICHMENT:All subjects specific application activities will be recorded internally by respective subject teachers. Laboratory work, Project work, ASL will be conducted regularly during the academic session.

AREAS OF ASSESSMENT (CLASS IX – CLASS X)

  • PERIODIC TESTS: The school will be conducting three periodic written tests in the entire academic year and average of best two will be taken.
  • MULTIPLE ASSESSMENT: Diverse methods of assessment as per the need of the class dynamics and curriculum transaction. These may include – short tests, oral  test, quiz, projects, posters, presentations, enquiry based scientific investigations etc.
  • PORTFOLIO: Classwork or Assignments, any exemplary work done by the student in the subject throughout the year, Participation of the student in different activities / Subject Enrichment in the form of Practical/Laboratory work, Project work, ASL will be conducted regularly during the academic session.

CLASS 1 – CLASS X

  • These activities will be graded on a 5- point grading scale (A to E) for IX & X and 3-point grading scale (A, B, C) for Class I – Class VIII. The students shall be assessed on two areas i.e. Art Education, Health and Physical Education. Work Experience is subsumed in the Physical and Health Education. No up scaling of grades will be done.
  • Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Behavior, Values): The class teacher will be grading the students on 5-point scale (A-E).

CLASS XI & XII

  • In classes XI & XII we have Cycle tests/Unit Tests and Term Examination as prescribed by CBSE from time to time.

CO-SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT:

  • Point Grading may be awarded in each compulsory area (General Studies, Health and Physical Education) for class XI & class XII.

PROMOTION POLICY

  • Students are promoted on the basis of their continuous evaluation which includes class tests, assignments, projects, class observation, life skills etc. Promotion to class XII is bases on the aggregate marks obtained by the students in Unit Tests & Term Examinations. Minimum pass percentage is 33% in each subject & also 33% in aggregate.

Assessment Reforms (New Education Policy 2020)

  • Regular formative and competency based assessments.
  • Promoting learning and development of students.
  • Continuous tracking of learning outcomes of students.
  • Assessing basic literacy, numeracy and other foundation skills for Grade 3.
  • Assessing core concepts and knowledge along with relevant higher order skills and application of knowledge in real life situations for Grades 5 & 8.
  • Redesigning Board Examination to encourage holistic development under subject choice options and stress free easier learning experiences.
